The Ocean Star Restaurant is a beautiful Japanese hibachi style restaurant perfectly positioned overlooking Bimini Bay on the northern end of Anna Maria Island at Galati Marina. Soak up the atmosphere at their bar, or indulge in their fresh sushi or Japanese delicacies straight from their Hibachi grill.

There are two other locations, one in the plaza on East Bay Drive in Bradenton Beach and the other in nearby Cortez.

We love coming here with our family, especially after a day of boating. Disembark your boat and head inside for a cosmopolitan experience. I especially love the house salad with a ginger dressing that is absolutely addictive. Crisp, crunchy and tart, unlike any other salad you've ever tasted. The Gyoza dumplings, served with an amazing sesame dipping sauce were a hit with the whole family. The chicken teriyaki was juicy and tangy, just the way I like it.

We also love sitting at the Tappenyaki Bar and watching the chef prepare our sumptuous steak, chicken and shrimp meals. A definite must do!

Overall a 5-star review!

The kids were entertained by watching the boats come and go and even seeing a manatee slowly swimming by.

We heard a rumor that Rod Stewart loved it so much he came back for a second time!

Check out their website to truly understand what kind of a treat you're in for.

Insider Tip

Call ahead and reserve the Tappenyaki chef. It's a real treat to watch this master in action and the food is so delicious.
